Thanking General David Petraeus

When General David Petraeus took over as the U.S. commander in Iraq, the war on terror and the fight to protect, and provide, freedom had many detractors. Petraeus served as a commander and a leader for nearly two years, and I ask you to join me to thank General Petraeus. Earlier this week, General Petraeus stepped down from his duties after serving 20 months with honor and integrity. General Ray Odierno will be taking over these duties.

Thank you so much to the more than 4,800 of you who responded to our petition drive in support of General Petraeus and our troops' effort in Iraq. With your help, we were able to present this American hero with solid, heartfelt evidence of support for him, his troops, and their mission.

Petraeus Petition Gains Support

Last week, Mike started an online petition to preempt General Petraeus testimony on Capitol Hill. The purpose of the petition is support the General Petraeus, the troops and recognize the progress in Iraq and vigilant for victory. 2,000 people have signed the petition to date and blogs across the country are supporting the petition. We will keep you updated throughout the week as the petition continues to garner support.
